JUNE 2017

  1. BRDF Team visited Dandeli, a small town in Uttara Kannada District of Karnataka.

  2. BRDF conducted a Workshop on “Employment Avenues for Educated Youth”.

  3. The Workshop was widely attended by the youth of the town and its surrounding villages. The participants were mainly ITI passed but had been working as daily wage earners with sub-contractors in the huge Paper Mill in the town.

  4. During the Workshop a healthy discussion was held before culmination and the following points emerged:

(a) The youth should join together in groups of 3-4 participants and start small businesses of their own. These businesses should be low investment and cover the field of their trainings and available avenues in and around the township.

(b) The following avenues could be explored and considered:

  • Electrical, Mechanical Motor Workshops.
  • Dairy Farming.
  • Mushroom Cultivation.
  • Fashion & Hair styling Accessories.
  • Tourism

(c) BRDF Team assured that we will approach known Businessmen and Industrialists to conduct recruitment camps at Dandeli.


JUNE 2017

  1. On Invitation, BRDF conducted a two hour Interactive Session with trainees of the Govt. ITI, Ambewadi, Dandeli. During the session, it was impressed upon the trainees to take their ITI Training seriously and try to excel in their field.

  2. The trainees were advised to start planning for their future employment and entrepreneurship about a year before completion of the Course at ITI.

JULY 2017

  1. A couple of meetings were help with Businessmen and Industrialists in Dharwad and Belgaum, big cities around North Karnataka.

  2. They were requested to conduct Recruitments from the youth of Dandeli.

  3. Discussions with them, brought to the fore that to earn a decent living outside Dandeli, the youth should be advised that after doing ITI, they should undergo some specialisation courses like CAD/CAM etc. to gain more expertise for better employability. The same was conveyed to the participants of the Workshop, through their email IDs.
